Anyways this is a rare request I actually took on because I was interested in the idea and it had been a while since I have done anything requests. Yay for getting me drawing, I'm so glad to have some time for it!
Anyways the idea was given to me by Galie who requested a cute lovey sorta scene with the two main characters Austin and Goliath of Galie and Night's joint project. Sooooo when the two of them were explaining these characters I got the idea for a picture where he is reading to her since he enjoys reading and apparently later is teaching her to read annnd she fell asleep The nighttime setting was Galie's idea which I am glad I came up with an idea of a lantern or else I don't know how I would have put her idea and mine for the picture together xDDDD
So yes, I hope that both Galie and Night like this since it's their characters and story
Check out more at Characters: Austin (girl on left) belonging to and Goliath (guy on right) belonging to Media: Pencil crayons of the crayola variety and black prismacolor (p.s. ignore his clothing, couldn't get the values dark enough) Time: I'd take a guess around 8 hours little more or less (once again I fail at keeping track)
Aww, so cute!! Poor Goliath. ;A; I feel bad for him, Galie's so mean.
I love your coloring, it's always so beautiful!
And here I go again... Austin's position is a little awkward - her body should be closer to him to make the position feel more natural. She'd probably fall over this way, or wake up with a terrible back ache! There needs to be a little bit more foreshortening on their legs - from the wait up, it looks like we're looking at them straight on, but from the waist down, it looks like we're much higher up looking down.
I'm sorry I've been critiquing you so much! It's only because I think you're drawings are wonderful and I really want to see you improve! I hope I'm not being too harsh by pointing things out...I worry about that a lot. ;^; <3

The inspiration! It will fly from my fist into your brain!
Oh not at all, I like getting these encouraging critiques Hmmm I see what you mean, to be honest when drawing it I had the hardest time figuring out the positioning and especially with the legs. Next couples pic I try I try to get them closer and more natural looking, cause it is true she is a tad far xDDD In the case of the legs though, when you say foreshortening do you mean I should try to make them larger so they look closer? Thanks very much I want to improve too~ Hopefully I can keep these things in mind when sketching in the future!
Yeah, pretty much. And not just larger, but change the angle a little bit. Like, for Austin, we'd see less of her thighs and more of her knees, because her knees would be pointing more or less straight at us. And Goliath's right (our left) leg would look a little shorter and wider on the end, since the end is closer, and his left (our right) foot would be showing us more of the toes. We shouldn't be able to see the top of his foot, really.
Mm, I hope that made sense. Foreshortening in really hard to explain in words! <.>;
Good luck! Keep sketching!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
